My, my — this stuff is so horrible! I remember when I was in school there were jokes about Mystery Meat but it’s completely disgusting how inferior of a food product this is.
So the story is, all the “pink slime” that McDonald’s and Taco Bell vowed to no longer purchase — cow scraps + ammonia, smooshed together — will remain in the schools. Remain. It’s been in the schools and it will stay there thanks to a renewal from the USDA.
I don’t know why this product even exists as something that humans can eat. Why? Why would you sell this to schools? Not even getting into what sort of rotten apple would buy it. Are we too far down the road to turn it around? How would we even get back to healthy foods in the schools?
